Portuguese wine-bottling potluck, Berkeley (video)

by wands on September 6, 2009

A sunny day. A home winemaker. Rather, make that two home winemakers. An assortment of guests who have in common that they like to prepare food; eat it — and eat well.

The party was at Subterranean Cellars, which comprises the garage, basement, yard and sometimes also the living room of winemaker and wine writer Tim Patterson and his food-writing, horse-riding wife, Nancy Freeman. The theme was Portuguese, as in bring a Portuguese dish and we would bottle and drink Portuguese wine. This video sets the scene and explains something about the wines.

To come, two more videos: The food. Plus: How Roughy the winery Super-Cat saved Subterranean Cellars from fire and devastation.
