Documentary filmmaker Petra Epperlein’s Karl Marx City is a personal journey that takes her back to the East Germany of her childhood. Inspired by questions that arise after the suicide of her father the film, made with co-director Michael Tucker, her husband, takes audiences into the secret and sinister world of the Stasi.
