Documentary filmmaker Petra Epperlein’s Karl Marx City is a personal journey that takes her back to the East Germany of her childhood. Inspired by questions that arise after the suicide of her father the film, made with co-director Michael Tucker, her husband, takes audiences into the secret and sinister world of the Stasi. She speaks to Wanda Hennig at the 2017 Durban International Film Festival.
Great interview. Sounds a great movie but traumatic story.
